The Eugene Ashley Jr. Foundation exists to keep a hero’s legacy alive by empowering communities and giving back to veterans, active duty, first responders, and their families.
The Eugene Ashley Foundation was created to honor the life and legacy of Sergeant First Class Eugene Ashley Jr., a Wilmington native and Medal of Honor recipient whose courage and sacrifice continue to inspire generations.
SFC Ashley dedicated his life to service. During the Vietnam War, he led with extraordinary bravery, ultimately giving his life to protect others. His heroism earned him the nation’s highest military recognition, but his story is about more than a medal. It is about the values he embodied: courage, service, honor, and community.
The Eugene Ashley Foundation brings SFC Eugene Ashley Jr.’s legacy to life by supporting families, building future leaders, and promoting wellness in our community.
Workshops and support focused on mental health, grief support, and overall wellness for families of veterans, active duty service members, and first responders.
